What kind of security door should I get?

With all of the options we offer for a security door, we understand that it can be a challenge to determine what exactly you may need to improve the security of your home or business. Whilst there's no way for us to tailor this guide to your exact needs, we can break down the different types of security doors we offer and what each of their benefits are, so you can make an informed decision.
Steel Security Door Overview
Our steel security doors are made to the highest quality guidelines and incorporate a multi-point locking system which locks at 12 points around the steel frame. All of our products come CE marked, which is a legal requirement for any type of door sold in the UK and Europe. Every aspect of our steel security doors’ design, manufacture and installation guarantees quality security for your commercial or domestic premises.
Benefits of Steel Doors
No matter which of our security doors you choose, a steel door is a great option. Not only are they great for adding security to your home, but they also are an extremely durable solution. A few of their other benefits include:
- Security: Exceptional strength and resistance to break-ins, making them ideal for high-security needs.
- Durability: Capable of withstanding severe weather conditions, fire, and impact damage.
- Low Maintenance: When compared to timber doors.
- Fire Resistance: Provide better fire resistance than other types of doors. We also carry Fire Rated Steel Security Doors.
Steel Security Doors
Steel security doors from Doors4Security Ltd come in either a standard version or a heavy-duty option, where the main difference between the two is the thickness of the steel used on the door blade and the steel door frame. We offer both single and double steel security doors complete with multi-point locking systems and anti-jemmy studs, so no matter what you need, we've got you covered.
As standard, our steel security doors offer:
- An expandable steel door frame
- Full weather seal
- Option to have hinge side on the right or left
- 9-12 point locking system
- Stainless steel hinges, handles, and locks
- Anti-jemmy lip around the frame
- 4 heavy duty lift off hinges
- Options for a powder-coated door
- Range of optional extras
Steel Panelled Doors
Our steel panelled doors are manufactured to the highest standard of security. Designed to look more decorative, these opening doors are perfect for use as a front door, whether that's for your home, or for businesses that need to look more domestic. These doors have six panels and come powder-coated in white as standard, but can be powder-coated in any of the colours in our colour chart to match your aesthetic.
As with our other steel security doors, the door leaf is 50mm thick and filled with fibreglass and mineral wool, giving it a high level of security for a front door. If you're using this for your home, then you can even install optional extra hardware such as spy holes and letter box openings.
Louvered Doors
Our range of louvered doors are the perfect doors for industrial settings. Installation of louver panels into a door made from security steel allows constant airflow through the room. Louvered doors are mostly used in plant rooms, communal rubbish bin stores, commercial pumping stations, electrical utility rooms, and gas cylinder storage.
We can also supply adjustable steel-framed louvered panels that can alter the air flow through the door. When the adjustable louvered panel is fully opened it allows an air flow area of 40% and when the panel is closed no air will pass through. This style of louvered steel panel is ideal for areas that are affected by changes in temperature.
Container Doors
Container doors are manufactured for use with shipping containers. Whether you're using them on a stationary shipping container, or are sending them across the world, our security container doors come with a range of premium features perfect for securing your container.
With 45mm of galvanised steel, a reinforced door leaf, a 90mm enclosed door frame, and 3mm anti-jemmy bar lips on the door edge, these doors are supplied with the best security a door can offer. Our Steel Container Doors come with high-density PU foam insulation in both the door frame and door leaf, ensuring that the door won't provide a cold spot in a shipping container office or storage unit.
Our container doors also contain a number of other major security features:
- Shoot Bolts
- Strike Plates
- Handle locks
- Hinges and Dog Bolts
- Side Locks
Fire Rated Security doors
Fire rated security doors from Doors4Security Ltd are manufactured to provide robust protection both against fire and unauthorised access. There are several ratings to a fire-rated door, including FD30, FD60 and FD120. The number following the FD code indicates the length of time that the door can hold back fire for. For timber doors, the FD code applies, but for a steel door, it has an E code for fire rating. The FD code is more well known, but our doors are E120 rated, meaning that they can offer fire resistance for up to 120 minutes.
With our fire-rated security doors, we offer more than one locking system, so no matter how much security you need, we can supply it. We offer:
- Briton B5420 Sashlock Radius: Supplied with lever handles and Cylinder
- Briton 5760 Escape Sashlock Radius: Includes lever handles and euro profile cylinder
- Briton Radius Cylinder Nightlatch w/o Holdback: Includes lever and D handle
